Day 1 of Red Bull King of the Air on Saturday delivered thrilling performances by the world’s top 24 riders. The event kicked off in the afternoon with the inaugural Women’s Division, followed by the highly anticipated men’s heats. Harlem team riders Lorenzo Casati and Clément Huot were ready to showcase their talent.
Lorenzo Casati displayed exceptional skill and consistency, landing all 13 out of 13 tricks in his heat. With the highest variety scores of the day in the open division – 8.26 – Lorenzo secured a seamless path to Round 3, proving he’s a top contender.
For Clément Huot, the conditions weren’t ideal for his first heat, making it challenging to deliver his best performance. He now moves to Round 2, where he’ll battle against Cohan Van Dijk for a spot in the next stage.
As Cape Town’s famous winds didn’t show up on Sunday, the event is currently on hold. The wind window remains open until 8 December, so fingers crossed for the arrival of the Cape Doctor soon!
